The Cairngorms National Park covers a beautiful 4,528km2. Its breath-taking scenery is dominated by mountains (4 of the 5 highest peaks in the UK at over 4,000 feet), whilst lochs, heathlands, forests and rivers home to salmon & trout fill everything in-between. The Cairngorms National Park Authority was set up in 2003 and has 4 aims: To conserve and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the area; To promote sustainable use of the natural resources of the area
