Situated on the original Buxton to London Roman road, The Duke of York caters for tents, motor homes and caravans and is open all year round. The site is within the Peak District National Park and overlooks some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Derbyshire Dales. The public house has a traditional English feel. It has a main lounge that is locally known as the Top Bar and a small lounge adjacent to the restaurant which is known as the Bottom Bar.
